Abstract
Objective To study the relationship between expression of serum MMP-2 levels and clinicopathological characteristics in the patients with primary lung cancer. Methods The expression of serum MMP-2 was detected in 70 lung cancer patients and 20 healthy persons before surgery. The association between serum MMP-2 levels and clinicopathological features was analyzed. Results serum MMP-2 levels in pulmonary carcinoma patients were significantly higher than those in healthy people. The expression of MMP-2 was closely related to lymph node metastasis and clinical stages(P0.05).Conclusion The serum level of MMP-2 is closely correlated to lymph node metastasis and clinical stages in lung carcinoma, which may serve as a parameter for determining tumor invasion and metastatic.
