A New Interpretation of the Chinese Character "美"(Beauty)

Abstract

There are various interpretations about the Chinese character 美 , but all of the them are traditional . From the perspective of the context, we may know its implication.Its structure from 羊 to 人 displays a complicated image implying the beauty represented by 美 and ugliness represented by 羌. Therefore, the Chinese character 美 is actually the combination of beauty with ugliness.
