Abstract

Based on the stability analysis of large caisson foundations in Sutong Bridge, this paper represented that if the bearing capacity requirement on the caisson foundation base is satisfied, it is not true that the embedded depth of the caisson foundation is the larger the better, and the depth needs not to be large.
