Abstract
To deal with existing defects in present automatic measurements for crankshaft from home and abroad,a novel method to obtain certain crankshaft measurement information by Charge Coupled Device(CCD) was proposed.Firstly,image processing was conducted for various gathered crankshaft pictures so as to obtain characteristics information from different parts of crankshaft.Then geometric dimensions and tolerances of the crankshaft of different angles could be achieved precisely and rapidly and assessed whether they were qualified products or not.In a word,an effective solution to satisfy requirements from measurement precision and rapidity for crankshaft production was provided.
