Occurrence and herbicide control of lawn weeds in Guangxi

An investigation on lawn weeds occurred in nine major cities of Guangxi was carried out in 1998-2000.The results showed that the commonly occurred weeds included more than 129 species belonging to 32 family.The main weeds damaging lawn were: Cynodon dactylon,Digtaria adascendens,Eleusine indica,Cyperus rotundus,Kyllinga brevifolia,Kyllinga brevifolia Rottb var, Ageratum Conyzoides,Artemisia argyi,Hydrocotyle sibthopioides,Centella asiatica,Conyza canadensis,Eclipta prostrata,Gnaphlium affine,Gnaphilium hypoleucum,Alternanthear philoxeroides,Alternanthear sessilis,Mazus japonicus,Capsella bursa postoris,Oxalis corymbosa,Oxalis corniculata,Solanum photeinocarpum,Euphorbia hirta and Soliva anthemifolia .The weed communities were divided according to different ecological zones.It was found that mcpa,SL 160 and bentazone can control parts of lawn weeds.The lactofen,ethoxysulfuron,anilofos,cyhalofop buty1 and tribenuron were safe and effective in controlling lawn weeds.Some broad spectrum herbicides with selectivety called Luhaiyin and Luhailing were developed.Satisfactory control effect was made.
