Abstract

This study aims at developing a radiant floor cooling system using the existing radiant floor heating system.Using CFD(computational fluid dynamics) software, this paper analyzes the airflow distribution under displacement ventilation, the radiant floor cooling and the hybrid system. The temperature field, velocity field and the vertical gradient are analyzed under different loads. The simulation results show that the thermal comfort of hybrid system is the best, and the risk of condensation is lower than the radiant floor cooling operating individually. The internal heat sources influence airflow distribution enormously. We can draw the conclusion that the hybrid system can be used with wide range of cooling load.It can improve the cooling capacity of radiant floor cooling and avoid condensation on the cooling floor surface.
