Expression of Survivin in Ameloblastoma and Correlation with Imaging Subtypes of Ameloblastoma

To examine the expression of Survivin in ameloblastoma and the relationship between ameloblastoma and subtypes of ameloblastoma in imaging,the expression of survivin was examined by using the immunohistochemisty(SP) method.60 cases of ameloblastoma pre-operative X-ray film were collected.These specimens were divided into three groups.The relationship between the results of Survivin protein expression and imaging subtypes in ameloblastoma were analyzed.The expression of Survivin is 71.67%(43/60)in ameloblastoma samples and the expression of Survivin in normal oral tisues is 18.18%(4/22).The expression of survivin in unilocular ameloblastoma is 50% and lower than multilocular ameloblastoma(83.87%)and honeycomb ameloblastoma(100%)(P0.01).There was no statistically significant between multilocular ameloblastoma and honeycomb ameloblastoma(P0.05).Survivin may be one of thre biomarker for early diagnose of ameloblastoma.The proliferation and apoptosis inhibiting capacity of multilocular ameloblastoma and honeycomb ameloblastoma may be higher than unilocular ameloblastoma.
