Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of the 7-day bismuth-containing quadruple therapy as first-line therapy for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori.Methods 120 patients without treatment for eradication of Hp were randomly assigned into triple and quadruple group.The patients in the triple therapy group received lansoprazole 30 mg bid,clarithromycin 250 mg bid and amoxicillin 1.0 g bid for seven days.The patients in the quadruple therapy group received lansoprazole 30 mg bid,clarithromycin 250 mg bid and amoxicillin 1.0 g bid and pectinbismuth 150 mg bid for seven days.The clinical ef ficacy was checked by 13 c-urease breath test 4 weeks after the end of therapy,and the status of patients'gastric symptoms and adverse reaction were also evaluated.Results The eradication rates were significantly higher in the quadruple group compared with the triple group(P0.05),whereas the incidence of the status of patients'gastric symptoms and adverse reaction were similar.Conclusion The 7-day bismuth-containing quadruple therapy as first-line therapy can achieve a higher eradication rate than the 7-day standard triple therapy in the initial treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection.
