On the Decadent Life Consciousness of Yu Geng Yu's Poetry

Yu Gengyu was a poet of the Satan School of the twentieth century.Though forgotten by his contemporaries,he did get an outstanding style and sentiment,which was a symbol of romantic decadence and fatigue.In a sense,Yu's grave decadent life consciousness and his persistence in its representation is unique among the modern poets.Herein,after a survey of Yu's poetic creation for over ten years from 1923-1934,the author of the thesis makes an attempt to interpret the very life experience——the colorful inclusions and representations of the decadent life consciousness,and to investigate in his personal perspective into the intrinsic cause of the style and sentiment.
