Abstract
The related data of 3,040 transportation-oriented logistics enterprises in Guangzhou are collected in this paper to research their spatial distribution rule and agglomeration mechanism in different districts of the city.It is found that(1) The enterprises are densely clustered in the central parts of the city and are more scattered in other districts, generally gathering around three centers and one axis.(2)The Spatial distribution patterns of transportation-oriented logistics corporations located in different districts are quite different. In Baiyun District, the distribution prestents a pattern of three vertical lines, one horizontal line and one center;in Yuexiu District,it is rather homogeneous;in Liwan and Haizhu Districts,it is generally highly-dispersed;in Tianhe District, the enterprises are distributed along an axis with small-scale gathering;and in Huangpu and Luogang Districts there is double gathering center,respectively.(3) The major factors influencing the spatial distribution patterns of transportation-oriented logistics corporations include historical factors, transportation infrastructure, economic strength, logistics facilities(airports, freight transport stations and wholesale markets),city planning and land use policy.Considering various factors,in order to ensure the orderly development of the logistics industry and the formation of a more reasonable spatial distribution pattern of logistic enterprises, the authors suggest conducting an overall planning for city-based logistics industry, providing sufficient and suitable spaces for development of the industry, and gaining benefits from agglomeration.
