Abstract

Objective To examine the effects of electroacupuncture on apoptosis in hippocampus of heroin addicted rats.Methods Heroin was injected subcutaneously according to the principle of daily increasing dose in rats.Treat acupuncture group with HANS' electroacupuncture of Zusanli andSanyinjiao of rats after addict;Apoptosis in rat hippocampus was detected by flow cytometry.Results(1)Compared with normal group,apoptotic rates of addicted group and abstained group were increased(P0.05) in rat hippocampus.(2)Compared with addicted group and abstained group,apoptotic rates of acupuncture group was decreased(P0.05) in rat hippocampus.Conclusions(1)Heroin addiction can increase apoptotic rate in rat hippocampus.(2)Apoptosis in rat hippocampus induced by heroin-addiction could be reversed by HANS.
