Abstract
Objective To investigate insulin resistance and beta cell function of non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) patient. Method: 120 patients were divided into 2 groups according to the results of 75 g oral glucose tolerance test and ultrasound, control group: 60 patients who had normal glucose tolerance and no NAFLD, NAFLD group: 60 patients with NAFLD. HOMA-IR and Matsuda Index (MI)were used to assess insulin resistance. HOMA-β, early and lately indexes of insulin secretion were used to evaluate β cell function. Results: The HOMA-IR of NAFLD group were significantly higher, but MI were significantly lower than that of control group(P0.05). Early insulin secretion index of NAFLD group was significantly lower than that of control group (P0.05),but there was no significant difference of HOMA-β and lately insulin secretion index between NAFLD group and control group. Conclusions: Normal glucose tolerance NAFLD patients present with insulin resistance, their eary insulin secrection are damaged.
