Abstract

Objective:To explore the effect of pregestational weight and weight gain during pregnancy on birth weight and height of neonates.Methods:Data at baseline were collected in the first trimester of pregnancy,birth weight and height of neonates were followed up and compared.Results:There was positive correlation between birth weight,height of neonates and pregestational weight and weight gain during pregnancy.Conclusion:Pregestational BMI and weight gain during pregnancy have impact on birth weight and height of neonates,timely consultation and intervention was important,and proper weight gain during pregnancy can reduce the incidences of maternal and children complications,low birth weight infant and macrosomia.
