Abstract
By comparing the separate UF system and the PAC leading-in UF system,it was found that flux decline slowed down somewhat after adding PAC.But it could not alleviate fouling and acquire high flux very significantly. So the dissolved organic of small molecular which was adsorbed by PAC was not a major factor which caused fouling and they formed a secondary membrane in the surface. The test found that PAC into the UF system helped to remove humic acid effectively. The removal rate of humic acid was about 94%.By putting the calcium ions into the PAC leading-in UF system, membrane fouling was effectively mitigated and the flux decline was controlled.
