Abstract
Using bamboo biomass as raw materials,ZnCl2 as activating agent, experiments of vacuum chemical activation to prepare bamboo-based activated carbon were carried out.The effects of different factors such as impregnation ratio(the mass ratio of activating agent and bamboo biomass),impregnation time, activation temperature, and activation time on adsorption properties of bamboo-based activated carbon were investigated. The results showed that the bamboo-based activated carbon, obtained under vacuum, using ZnCl2 as activating agent, has the higher adsorption capacity with the iodine value up to 1314.04 mg/g and the methylene blue adsorption capacity up to 321.07 mg/g.The optimum conditions were: impregnation ratio 150%,impregnation time 24 h,activation temperature 600 ℃ and activation time 60 min.
