Abstract
This paper introduces the basic characteristics of the catenary mooring system,presents the effect of its length,diameter and pretension angle on the dynamic characteristics of the mooring lines,analyzes a more economical catenary mooring system in the depth of 1500m,and researches the influences of configuration and the number of mooring lines on the dynamic effect.The results show that the platform motion and dynamic effect of the mooring lines are significant in deep water,and changing the configuration and the number of the mooring lines have improved the dynamic effect of the system to a certain extent,but the cost of the catenary mooring system and operation ability of the platform still need to be considered.
