Abstract
Jiafeng 68S is a new photoperiod-temperature sensitive genic male sterile (PTGMS) line carrying the bentazane sensitive lethal gene in medium indica rice, and developed from the multiple crosses of 8077S/Fengliangyou No.1 // Shuhui527 /// Yangdao No.6. Its male sterility belongs to pollen-free type with 100% pollen sterility and stable male sterility of 100% sterile plants in its male sterile period. The critical temperature (CT) for male sterility is below 23.5℃ under 14.5 hours of day length. It has the characteristics of good plant type, early tillering, good appearance quality, high combining ability and favorable flowering habits for easy multiplication and hybrid seed production. Many promising combinations derived from it are in different regional trials.
