Abstract
Objective To explore the expression of c fos gene in neonatal rat cortex, hippocampus after hypoxia ischemia. Methods RT PCR and immunohistochemisty were used to detect the expression of c fos mRNA and c fos protein in cortex, hippocampus of hypoxia ischemia neonatal rats. Results Compared with controls, c fos mRNA transiently increased at 0~1 h post hypoxia in the ligated side cortex and hippocampus, then returned to the level in controls after 2 h. By immunohistochemistry, the positive rate of c fos protein increased to the high level after 2 hours post hypoxia in ligated side (P0.05), and the peak time of it delayed about 1h.Conclusion The transient expression increase of c fos gene might induce hypoxia ischemia damage in the cortex and hippocampus.
