Abstract
The improper use of arc contours error evaluation method leads to wrongly estimating arc contours with small error as disqualified. In this paper,a mathematical model based on minimum zone circle method is established to study the relation between the detected feature points and the maximum or minimum zone cirle. An objective function of the model is set up and its error control method is analyzed to obtain the uncertainty expression of the error of circular arc center and circular arc radius. The model for arc error evaluation overcomes the shortcomings of error evluation method simply dependent on the value of radius, which is more in accordance with the distribution of arc error. The results show that the mathematical model can correctly simulate the actual arc error.
