Abstract
This paper attempts to theorize narrative research from three perspectives: narrative as a phenomenon, narrative as a way of thinking, and narrative as a method of research. The significance of narrative research lies in that it leads us to the way of narrative thinking.By adopting narrative, grand theory aiming at seeking abstraction and universality gives way to the situated meaning of educational practice. Therefore, the meaning of narrative research should be understood in its epistemological essence of education.
