Abstract

[Objective] To investigate the blood lead level among school-aged children at the age of 2 to 12 years,and to explore the effect of high blood lead on the children’s health.Methods The content of blood lead was measured by AAS,and the clinical manifestation of children with high blood lead or near-high blood lead was investigated as well ad the indexes of blood were detected,which were compared with that of children with normal blood lead.Results The detection rate of high blood lead was 2.27% while the detection rate of near-high blood lead was 3.34%.The incidences of headache,anorexia,bit nail and bit writing tools among both high blood lead groups and near-high blood lead groups were significantly higher than those in normal groups.Both MCV and MCH were significantly lower when compared with normal groups(P﹤0.01).Conclusion The level of blood lead is not high among children at the age of 2 to 12 years,however the health of school-aged children with near-high blood lead has been affected.
