A Comparative Study of Shanxi Merchants and Shaanxi Merchants in Ming and Qing Dynasties

Shanxi Merchants and Shaanxi Merchants in Ming and Qing Dynasties have exerted great influence upon social economy at that time.Bursts of pay-system which was created by Shanxi Merchants,made clear the established members' ownership in trading company and encouraged morale.On the other hand,the partnership shareholding system and shareholding system of the agreement based on that different political geography origin,devised by Shaanxi Merchants are as efficient as the bursts of pay-system created by Shanxi Merchants. This paper attempts to find out the inherent factors leading to their different developing routes through comparing their operation mechanisms.
