Abstract

With the widely use of high-power power electronic devices in modern metallurgical enterprises, multi-harmonic sources exist in industrial power system. Therefore, it leads to increasing harmonic pollution and low power factor. The harmonic distribution in industrial power system of a metallurgical enterprise was analyzed. Furthermore, harmonic models were established and character of harmonic sources was analyzed too. Then, harmonic sources are divided into current harmonic sources and voltage harmonic sources. Aiming at multi-harmonic sources in industrial power system, the methods to solve the harmonic superposing problem and their shortcomings were discussed. In order to save investment and improve effect of suppressing harmonic, an electromagnetic transient simulation model was proposed to analyze multi- harmonic superposition. Simulation experimental results were also given.
