Abstract

Correlation analysis,multiple regression analysis,path analysis and determination coefficient analysis were undertaken among yield and its components of the new variety Yuetang03-373.Correlation among yield and its components revealed extremely significant correlation and the relationship between yield and stalk number was the most significant.There was linear relationship between yield and its components from the result of multiple regression analysis.Path analysis showed that stalk number was the most important character with the highest direct effect on cane yield relative to stalk length and stalk diameter.The effect of stall number and stalk length to yield was mostly direct while stalk diameter was mostly indirect.Determination coefficient analysis indicated that the relative determination coefficient of stalk number to yield was maximal and stalk length was also important for yield.In the cultivation of Yuetang03-373,stalk number was the key trait to the yield,stalk length secondary,and stalk diameter least.
