Abstract
Aim: To explore the value of tissue Doppler imaging(TDI) for the right ventricular function evaluation of patients with thyroid dysfunction. Methods: Thirty patients diagnosed with overt hypothyroidism,30 with hyperthyroidism and 30 healthy subjects were included in the study. The frequency spectrogram of tricuspid annular motion was obtained by TDI. The peak systolic velocity( Sa),the peak velocity at early diastole( Ea) and at late diastole( Aa),isovolumetric contraction time(ICT),ejection time( ET),isovolumetric relaxation time( IRT) were detected, and Ea / Aa and right ventricular Tei index were calculated. Results: There were significant differences in Sa,Ea,Aa,Ea / Aa,ICT,IRT and Tei index of lateral wall among the 3 groups( F = 61. 050,35. 021,29. 797,272. 981,9. 301,40. 800 and 81. 141,all P 0. 05). Compared with those of the control group,Sa,Aa and Tei index in hyperthyroidism group were higher,Ea / Aa,ICT were lower( P 0. 05); while IRT and Tei index were higher, and Ea,Ea / Aa were lower in hypothyroidism group( P 0. 05). The differences in Sa,ICT,IRT and Tei index of septal wall among the 3 groups were significant( F = 55. 968,18. 489, 34. 466and 29. 597,all P 0. 05). Compared with those of the control group,Sa and Tei index in hyperthyroidism group were higher,ICT were lower( P 0. 05); while IRT and Tei index were higher in hypothyroidism group( P 0. 05). Conclusion: TDI parameters could accurately and directly reflect the right ventricular function of patients with thyroid dysfunction.
