Abstract

In this paper,a finite element model of entire ship including power plants in engine room is built by using 30 geometric parameters and 40980 SHELL63,9576 BEAM4,13511 SOLID95 and 120 COMNIN14 elements.Finite element method (FEM) is employed to analyze the modes and the vibration responses of ship to excitations in consideration of fluid-structure interaction. In modal analysis,a reduced matrix method was used to eliminate the local modes in order to obtain the overall bending and torsion modes. Then, the vibration isolation effectiveness of vibration isolator of main and auxiliary diesel energy were calculated. The comparison of numerical results calculated by using FEM model and the combine model of stern structure and beam was preformed. Some useful conclusions were obtained. So,a new approach to predict ship structural vibration during design stage is proposed in this paper.
