By the rule of Qianlong, style theory becomes mature, and Shen Deqian is known as the master, while Qiao Yi enjoys the same fame. This paper studies the two masters in relation to their poetic concepts and style theories, and concludes that despite difference, they both stress the function of poetry upon norms, virtue on poetic style, and equality of Tang and Song. This shows that the study of poetic style takes a lengthy process in Qing dynasty.
