Quantitative Research on the Tourism Competitiveness of Some Coastal Cities in China

Based on reviewing and combing the researches on city tourism competitiveness at home and abroad,we set up the index system that conforms to this study,taking urban tourism infrastructure,development situation,and ecological environment competitiveness as the secondary indicators,and 25 other indicators related to city tourism competitiveness as tertiary indicators.On the basis of this study,we used principal component analysis and system clustering analysis method to measure factor score and ranking of the cities,and comparatively analysed the advantages and disadvantages between levels,cities and the areas.The results show that tourism competitiveness of Shanghai,Hangzhou,Guangzhou were relatively stronger,and Nantong,Zhongshan,Dongguan were relatively weaker.The city economies scale,environmental pollution and urban greening level influence more to urban tourism competitiveness.Gradient level is significant between urban tourism competitiveness,prospects of cooperation and ladder-like collocation development are good.City cooperation advantages outweighs competitive advantage in the same region,and we can set up pilot region of tourism cooperation.
