New Discovery of sporopollen in the Permian Jiawendaban Formation in the West Kunlun-Karakorum area

Abstract

During recent geological survey of the West Kunlun area, Permian sporopollen genera such as Cordiatina,Limitisporites,Protohaploxypinus and Primuspollenites have been found in of the Jiawendaban Formation, which provides an important basis for the determination of the age of the clastic rocks of the Jiawendaban Formation, stratigraphic division and correlation of the Permian strata and study of the history of geological evolution in the West Kunlun-Karakorum area.
