Abstract
Acting on the ultrasonic wave, the acrylic acid is swelled and permeated on the surface of polypropylene fiber. The suspension grafting occurred in the case of that dimethylbenzene is used as swelling reagent, benzoyl peroxide is used as initiator. Effects of the reaction condition of acrylic acid suspension grafting polypropylene on the grafting rate, such as the acrylic acid amount, reaction time, temperature, and the dosage of benzoyl peroxide were studied. The grafting fiber is further verified with IR and DSC. The grafting fiber is provided with well water absorbability and ion-exchange equivalent. The optimum reaction condition is as follows: reaction time is 3 h, temperature is 90 ℃, the charge ratio is PP:AA:BPO=1:3:0.02.
