Analysis on the human resources of chronic disease prevention and control in center for disease control and prevention (CDC) organizations in China

Objective To investigate the human resources of chronic disease prevention and control in Center for disease control and prevention(CDC) organizations at different levels(Province,City,County) in China,and provide evidence for strengthening human resources construction of chronic disease prevention and control.Methods The data of 2009 nationwide CDC organizations basis situation of chronic disease prevention and control survey was used to descriptively analyze the study with SPSS 16.0.Results The response numbers of the three levels center for disease control and prevention(CDC) were 31(100%),336(99.1%) and 2 749(98.1%) respectively.The average age of 7 483 chronic disease prevention and control staffs was 39.2 years.Data showed 34.8% staffs have acquired bachelor degree or above and 12.2% staffs have acquired senior titles.The average working time of the staff engaging in chronic disease prevention and control was 5.1 years.Conclusions It needs to increase the numbers of chronic disease prevention and control full-time staff,especially the training of basic level professionals in middle and west areas.
