Abstract
Objective To explore the expression and significance of the hypoxia inducible factor(HIF-1α and HIF-2α) in human gastric cancer. Methods SP immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of HIF-1α,HIF-2α and VEGF.Western blot method was used to measure the expression of HIF-1α and HIF-2α in the tissue samples. Results Compared with the normal tissue, gastric cancer had significantly higher expression rate of HIF-1α(61.5% vs 11.1%),HIF-2α(36.5% vs 0)and VEGF(61.5% vs 0).The expression of HIF-1α was significantly and correlated with lymph node metastasis and VEGF expression.Expression of HIF-1α and HIF-2α in gastric cancer tissues was significantly higher than that of adjacent non-cancerous gastric mucosa.ConclusionThe expression of HIF-1α and HIF-2 α may play important roles in the development and progression of ganstric cancer.
