A Preliminary Study on Lianxi Poetry School

Zhou Dunyi who was the founder of Neo-Confucianism inaugurated Lianxi School.Along with the improvement of Zhou's status in history,people created a large number of poems about him strarted from Song to Qing Dynasty,and they were mainly preserved in different versions of Lianxi Zhi,Lianxi Ji and Zhou Dunyi Ji.According to their sources,these poems can be classified into different types,including Zhou's presenting in reply,sacrifice for Zhou Dunyi,traveling and formal visit to relic of Zhou Dunyi,expressing think of Zhou Dunyi and elucidation about philosophical thought of Zhou Dunyi.They all have distinct style of Neo-Confucianism poetry and select images around Zhou Dunyi.We designate these poems as Lianxi Poetry School.Studies on these poems can help us understand the influence and behavior of Neo-Confucianism in the history of poetry and contribute to the research on Neo-Confucianism.
