Abstract
Objective To investigate the surgical treatment of primary sacral tumor, and to improve survival rate. Methods 11 cases with primary sacral tumors were undergone surgical treatment, and the surgical approaches were analyzed. Results No intraoperative death was found.2 were complicated with wound rim necrosis,1 with early cerebrospinal fluid leaking.10 cases were followed for 4~60 months.1 case of chordoma got recurrence and died in 1 year postoperatively. Conclusions Sacrococcygeal tumor should be widely resected.Bleeding should be controlled and sacral nerve root should be protected.Proper lumbosacral reconstruction, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are effective in certain degree.
