Abstract
By computer simulation, this paper sets up an evacuating model of subway station, whereby the personnel distribution at each moment is obtained and the bottleneck locations for pedestrian evacuation are suggested. The deficiency of the calculation methods currently used to evaluate the evacuation time of subway is addressed. The influences of the automatic fare gate in subway on pedestrian evacuation are analyzed by simulation, indicating that the existence of automatic fare gates of metro reduces the efficiency of evacuation. Some reasonable suggestions are proposed to decrease the effect of the automatic fare gates for evacuation planning and practical evacuation.
