Abstract
A double anaerobic /anoxic alternative operating A2O(D-A2O) reactor was designed to treat simulated sewage in the laboratory. The results of 8-month experiment indicated that the optimal operating conditions were as follows:hydraulic retention time(HRT) was 8 h;the mixed-liquor return ratio(R) was200%,and the sludge return ratio(r) was80%;the double anaerobic/anoxic alternative operating time was 1 h.Under these conditions, the removal rates of COD,TN,NH3-N and TP in the DA2 O reactor were 96.48%,77.70%,90.23% and 86.33% at(24 ± 2) ℃,respectively. When the temperature decreased to 12 ℃,the removal rates of COD,TN,NH3-N and TP could be maintained at88.76%,68.91%,80.03% and 76.83%,respectively.Thus,the conclusion can be drawn that using the D-A2 O reactor to treat domestic sewage at low temperature is feasible.
