The quality control of asphalt pavement construction

Abstract
In this paper,the section of Contract No.10 in Urumqi-Kuitun Highway project in Xinjiang is taken as an example to describe the quality control of asphalt pavement construction. The paper focuses attention on several important links of the quality control from controlling of raw materials quality, ensuring of good construction equipment working conditions and monitoring of trial pavement section to proper mixing,hauling, placing and compacting of the asphalt mixtures as well as proper treating of construction joints. This paper gives a standard construction method and the important points of the quality control of the asphalt pavement. The standard construction method can be used to direct the asphalt pavement construction.
