Abstract

Objective: To explore the prevention and cure of acute respiratory failure following esophagectomy for middleage patients.Methods: Clinical datas of 13 middle-age patients complicating acute respiratory failure following esophagectomy retrospective were analysed.Results: In the 13 patients of acute respiratory failure,12 patients were cured and only 1 patient died.Conclusion: Sufficient respiratory passage preparation at preoperative,shorter operative time,in time and effective aspiration sputum perioperative,postoperative effectively relieve pain,to encourage patients cough can prevent pulmonary complications.
