Life and Filial Piety——The Instinct of Filial Piety by Confucius in the Analects

Abstract

filial piety is one of the core ideas of the Confucian ideology. filial piety in The Analects by Confucius stems from the respect for life and the fear of limited time, bases on the great insight of human nature. From the inherent requirements and self-consciousness, Confucius reckoned that the filial piety was the unalterable principle and a kind of feeling from the bottom of ones heart. Such Confucian ideology of filial piety still has a realistic and positive function in the current construction of a harmonious society and civic virtues.
