Abstract

The influences of adding diethanolamine[(C2H4OH)2NH],triethanolamine[(C2H4OH)3N] and their mixture into alkaline electrolyte to the zinc electrode were studied.Diethanolamine could obviously delay the passivation performance of zinc electrode, but would accelerate corrosion and decrease the reversibility of electrode.Triethanolamine could delay the passivation performance and the reversibility, but the effect was not obvious. The proper mixing of diethanolamine and triethanolamine could improve the reversibility of electrode, and could almost restrain passivation perfectly,it could accelerate corrosion but the effect was very little. The effect was the best when added 0.3%[(C2H4OH)2NH]+0.1%[(C2H4OH)3N].
