Abstract
Wastewater and sludge treatment is an energy consuming process. To save energy and cut cost, new techniques, equipment and control systems are being adopted and developed. In this paper,a typical municipal secondary wastewater treatment plant was taken as an example and the energy usage and energy-saving approaches in each unit of the plant were analyzed. The development of aeration control systems was extensively explored, because the energy consumed during aeration makes up a large proportion of the total energy consumption of the wastewater treatment plant.Additionally, some technologies of recycling energy from wastewater and sludge,e.g.wastewater source heat pump technology, were discussed.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
