By analyzing the forming pattern of steel wire of every layer belonging to the strand of point contact wire ropes,the mathematic model has been established,and the module in the CAD system for wire ropes has been developedThe module can calculate the diameter of steel wire for rope,diameter of core wire,length and total weight of steel wire according to datain wire rope diameter and deviation,compacting factor of flaxen core,length,lay pitch and structural parameters of wire ropeContrasting calculated results with parameters of practical technology shows that the software with high precision can completely substitute for artificial calculation for convenience′s sake of production
