Abstract

Software radio applied in recent years is a new kind of system of wireless communication. It is a great revolution in the modern telecommunication field. It makes broadband A/D/A converter closer to the antenna, and makes the analog to digital conversion as soon as possible. By adopting the digital signal processing technique, a kind of flexible radio system is established on the programmable universal hardware platform. The perfect software radio is a multiband, multimode, and opening system architecture. Its functions are realized by the software running. It can be compatible with many communication modes, solve the intercommunication problems of multimode communications. The key techniques of software radio include antenna and broadband radio frequency, broadband A/D/A converter, high speed DSP, high capability interconnection structure and software protocol. The paper also introduces the development trend and application prospect of software radio.
