Abstract
The typical mineral assemblages of the eclogite facies in rock serieses such as ultrabasic, basic, pelitic, felsic, quartzose and carbonate rocks are given in this paper, and the concept of the eclogite fades is reaffirmed. The p-T range of the eclogite facies is about 400- 900℃, 1. 0-4. 0GPa and can be divided into low temperature, medium temperature, hightemperature and ultra-high pressure subfacieses.Except that the blueschist facies could directly transit to the low temperature ecloglte subfacies in space in a few areas, the eclogite facies did not constitute fades series with other metamorphic facies. The relation between them belongs to fades change. The complexity of the eclogite fades is discussed in the last part of the paper.
