Abstract

Objective To study the upper airway structural change of snoreguard for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome(OSAS) by computed tomography. Methods 20 cases of light or mild OSAS were treated with snoreguard. After 1-3 months,CT examinations were conducted for the patients, with and without the snoreguard respectively. And CT examinations were conducted for the comparing groups. Results The OSAS patients' upper airway was stricturer than that of the comparing groups. After wearing the snoreguard, the section areas and the distances of the airway were increased. Conclusion Structural stricture exists in the cavity of the upper airway of the OSAS patients, and the upper airway structure became normal after wearing snoreguard.
