Preliminary Study on the Essence of Regional Development

Abstract
The regional system with man-land relationship as its core is dissected. The regional composition of picture as well as the essence and process of regional development and evolution are put forward. The regional development can be divided into two phrases, structural development and ordering development. It is emphasized that the regional development is finished in the constant exploitations of various levels. And the connotation of development is far higher than the one of increase. The regional development can be judged with the entropy and the comprehensive targets system. The highly developed regions have the effects of integral tendency, structural ordering and function optimizing. The kernel and symbol of the regional development and ordering is the optimization of regional space structure, the fundamental way of which is the sustainable development.
