Abstract
By determining soil characteristics of youth and adult artificial eucalyptus in Jiulongdian Reservoir, with Pinus yunnanensis as the control,it was found that the soil bulk density of the three kinds of forest in Jiulongdian Reservoir are increase along with the increase of soil depth. The soil adult bulk density of eucalyptu forest is the largest, youth eucalyptus take second place,Pinus yunnanensis forest is the minimum; The soil organic matter content of soil organic matter content were significantly less than the Pinus yunnanensis forest; The water conservation capacity of the Pinus yunnanensis is the best, adult eucalyptus is the worst.Planting eucalypt could reduce the water conservation capacity of catchment area.
