Abstract
In view of the existing sedimentation of Kizil Reservoir in Xinjiang,the paper studied the application of spur dike and artificial sand canal combined technology in the reservoir sediment by the movable bed model test.The results show that: a) it makes the Heizi River flow deviate in the left bank through the spur dike,carrying the sediment to the entrance of artificial sand drainage and it changes the size of desilting canal to make the Heizi River inflow sediment as much as possible into artificial sand drains.b) the combination scheme of spur dike and artificial sand drains can more effectively achieve artificial desilting target in the Heizi Reservoir.As long as the reservoir flow in flood season for each encounter and reservoir water level keeps below 1 135 m,it can have more than 85% sediment of Heizi River to be discharged from the reservoir.
