Therapeutic effect of Topiramate on primary trigeminal neuralgia

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the therapeutic effect and the safty of Topiramate on primary trigeminal neuralgia Methods: Patients were treated with only Topiramate, and were observed by special experts Data of clinical therapeutic effect, the dosage and any side effect were observed Results: The effective cure rate for primary trigeminal neuralgia was 88% and the effective dosage was 50～400 mg/d There was no severe side effect Conclusion: Topiramate is a safe and effective cure for primary trigeminal neuralgia
