Abstract
This paper establishes the solid model of the cylinder gear by Pro/E according to its structural characteristics,and the finite element model of the gear by ANSYS software based on the theory of finite element method,investigates the stress-strain analysis of the gear by ANSYS software and gets the deformation and stress distribution nephogram of the gear. It also points out the disadvantages in the process of the gear design. This method provides a theoretic basis for the gear optimization and reliability design as well as CAE.
